New legislation enables a HOA to record a single request for title information on all defaulting properties within the Association…
Effective January 1, 2011, AB 2016 (Torres) permits a Homeowners Association (HOA) to record a single request for title information on all defaulting properties within the Association. Before this bill, HOAs wanting this information would have to record a request for each defaulting property. Torres amends Civil Code Section 2924.
Torres prevents a HOA from having to incur the costs involved in making multiple requests for title information and also enables a HOA to be more promptly notified when lenders commence foreclosure proceedings on a property. |
